Today, Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University is celebrating its 84th anniversary and the 153rd birthday anniversary of Vasyl Stefanyk, the patron of the University. The rich program of activities to mark the Day of University started with a grand ceremony on the square near the monument to Vasyl Stefanyk.
The ceremony started with a minute of silence to honour the memory of all the fallen Ukrainians, military and civil, Heroes. Besides, flowers were laid at the obelisk to the students and teachers who gave their lives for our Victory in this cruel and unjust war, and at the monument to Vasyl Stefanyk, the patron of Precarpathian National University.
Then, the ceremony of PNU honourable professors’ initiation began.
The title of honourable professor was awarded to Bohdan Tomenchuk, the director of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Centre of Education Quality Assessment, poet, publicist, and Pavlo Fris, Doctor of Law, Professor of the Department of Criminal Law of Education and Research Institute of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University.
Precarpathian University follows good traditions. Therefore, with the aim of recognizing significant accomplishments and essential achievements of the university scholars in the sphere of the Humanities and Sciences, Vasyl Stefanyk academic prize is annually awarded. This time, the award in the nomination “Golden Medal” was given to Ivan Monolatii, the Ukrainian historian, honoured ethnographer of Ukraine, academician of the Academy of Sciences of Higher School of Ukraine, full member of Shevchenko Scientific Society, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor.
