Olha Strilbytska, a researcher at the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, presented the results of team research at the 24th FEBS Young Scientists’ Forum and the 49th FEBS Congress

In early July 2025, Olha Strilbytska, a researcher at the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, presented the results of a collaborative scientific project at two prestigious international events: the 24th FEBS Young Scientists’ Forum (YSF 2025) and the 49th FEBS Congress, held respectively in Sapanca and Istanbul, Turkey.

The FEBS Young Scientists’ Forum 2025, which took place from July 2-5 under the slogan “Inspired by Nature, Driven by Science”, brought together 100 outstanding early-career researchers from across Europe. Participants had the opportunity to present their work, exchange scientific ideas, and build professional connections in a friendly and inspiring environment surrounded by the scenic landscapes of Lake Sapanca.

Olha Strilbytska presented the results of a study carried out under the supervision of Prof. Mariia Bailyak, Doctor of Biological Sciences, dedicated to investigating the long-term molecular effects of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in an experimental mouse model. The research, titled “Stressor-dependent effects in a mouse model of posttraumatic stress disorder: downregulation of immune response with minimal impact on the antioxidant system”, focused on the effects of various stress factors on emotional behavior and molecular mechanisms in a preclinical model of PTSD.

Immediately after the YSF, from July 5-9, participants joined the 49th FEBS Congress in Istanbul – a major international forum that brought together leading scientists and young researchers in the field of molecular life sciences from around the globe. During the Congress, Olha also presented the aforementioned study, which received positive feedback and sparked the interest of the international scientific community.

“I sincerely thank the team for trusting me to present the results of our joint work,” said Olha Strilbytska. “Special thanks to the organizers for the warm, inspiring atmosphere and the flawless organization of the events.”

We warmly congratulate Olha Strilbytska on participating in these significant scientific events and thank her for representing the scientific potential of our department and university at the international level!
