Our young scientists took part in an international conference organized by the staff of the Dnipro National University

VI International Scientific Conference “ACTUAL PROBLEMS OF BIOCHEMISTRY, CELL BIOLOGY AND PHYSIOLOGY” was performed on 6th and 7th of October 2022 at Oles Honchar Dnipro University. Our students participated in this conference together with 274 scientists from 13 countries. 8 speakers from our department had introduced their results. In addition, they were discussing the experimental work of other participates.
Our student Vladyslav Berezovsky had speech on the topic «Age Dependent Behavioral Responses In Mice Under The Influence Of Rhodiola Rosea And Ferulic Acid» in the field of Neurobiology. During his research Vladyslav used Open Field Test of murine behavior to investigate aging of brain.
Our students Tetiana Dmytriv and Oleh Demianchuk chose field of Medical Biochemistry and Physiology. Tetiana introduced investigation on the topic «Chemical Composition And Antioxidant Properties Of Rhodiola Rosea And Ferulic Acid». After speech she received important information for continuation of her work. Our PhD student Oleh Demianchuk had speech on the topic «The effects of a high-fat high-fructose diet and alpha-ketoglutarate on antioxidant defense and mitochondrial function of mouse liver». This investigation is part of complex study of influence of hypercaloric diet and alpha-ketoglutarate on mice. Oleh showed effects of experimental diets on murine liver mitochondria with development of oxidative stress.
Other young scientists Vitalii Derkachov, Nadia Stefanyshyn Marian Ivanochko, Viktoria Hurza and Myroslava Vatashchuk participated in poster session. They introduced results of influence of alpha-ketoglutarate and ferulic acid on fruit flies and mice.
Despite of war, science in Ukraine doesn’t stop. Dnipro is located close to frontline and this city is often under missile attack. This fact didn’t disturb to perform the magnificent conference. We are thankful to our defenders and heroes, Armed Forces of Ukraine who keep us safe and to organizers of the conference. Glory to Ukraine!
