We congratulate associate professors Oleh Lushchak and Dmytro Gospodaryov with another publication in the prestigious journal Pathology – Research and Practice. The article “Morphological prediction of lethal outcomes in the evaluation of lung tissue structural changes in patients on respiratory support with СOVID-19: Ukrainian experience” is devoted to the analysis of histological and radiological signs, and comorbidities in patients who died of pneumonia, associated and not associated with COVID-19. The article shows which pathologies, histological and radiological signs are characteristic of patients with the disease, and which can be risk factors for such patients.
The research was carried out in cooperation with colleagues of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Hospital, Departments of Radiology and Radiation Medicine, and Anesthesiology and Intensive Care of Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University, Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology of Ternopil National Medical University, Department of Biochemistry and Pharmacology of Uzhhorod National University, and the Clinical Trials Unit of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Hospital. The research was carried out in the frames of project 2020.01/0157, funded by the National Research Foundation of Ukraine.
