The journal “Neuropharmacology” (Q1) published an article based on the results of cooperation between the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology of PNU and Professor Olga Garaschuk, Director of the Institute of Physiology at the University of Tübingen (Germany). The article deals with the study of the effect of caloric restriction on energy metabolism and the intensity of oxidative stress in various organs of middle-aged and older mice. Given our previous successful cooperation, our German colleagues involved our staff in the biochemical part of their project. The experiments were performed at the Institute of Physiology at the University of Tübingen. The biochemical part was carried out by graduate students of the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology – Myroslava Vatashchuk, Victoria Hurza and Nadiya Stefanyshyn – as part of a practical training within the framework of an educational project supported by DAAD.
