During November, 23 – December, 23 2018 students and researchers from the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology Oksana Sorochynska, Natalia Butenko, Myroslava Vatashchuk, Nadia Mosiichuk and Halyna Shmihel took part in the experiments at the Kielanowski Institute of Animal Physiology and Nutrition, Jablonna, Poland. The study was managed by professors Stefan Pierzynowski (Lund university, Sweden) and Jarek Wolinski (Kielanowski Institute, Poland). The main goal of the project was to study in vivo activity of the antihyperuricaemic drugs along the gastrointestinal tract of young, growing pigs, given orally together with either a high fat diet (HFD) or in the fasted state.
