The Head of the Department, Professor Maria Bayliak, took part in the television program “About the main thing in the details” on the Ivano-Frankivsk regional television “Halychyna”. Other guests of the studio were the Vice-Rector for Science of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas, Professor Oleksandr Kondrat, and the Vice-Rector for International Relations and Strategic Development of the King Danylo University, Professor Maksym Karpash. The main topics of the discussion were the impact of the war on scientific research and scientists, problems of survival and post-war development of Ukrainian science, actual topics of scientific research and cooperation with foreign partners. All guests noted that the war caused a significant outflow of qualified scientists from Ukraine abroad. Maria Bayliak and Maksym Karpash also highlighted the problem of power outages and the impact of blackouts on natural science research. Both speakers pointed out the importance of cooperation with foreign scientists to keep science “afloat”. The importance of English language skills for conducting world-class research was also emphasized. Professor Kondrat emphasized the importance of the development of science in universities.
