As a result of a long-term selection process among 786 applications, the project of a scientific team from the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology headed by Associate Professor Oleh Lushchak received funding for a period of up to 12 months.
The project “Systematic analysis of short-lived organisms to define new approaches for lifespan and healthspan extension” is aimed to address an actual biomedical problem – extending lifespan and supporting healthy aging. The grant will allow the team to continue scientific work despite the war, and to carry out cutting-edge research in collaboration with European partners. The partner of the project team is Professor Nicola Iovino, Director of the Max Planck Institute for Immunobiology and Epigenetics (Freiburg, Germany).
In total, 65 projects involving 324 Ukrainian scientists will receive funding under the scholarship program. The scholarship program covers a wide range of scientific fields within six key research areas:
- Data, Computing, and Digital Research Infrastructures;
- Energy;
- Environment;
- Health and food;
- Physical sciences and engineering;
- Social and cultural innovations.
