Development of new non-medicinal methods for correction of metabolic syndrome: normalization of physiological and biochemical indices in animals

Research project:

Development of new non-medicinal methods for correction of metabolic syndrome: normalization of physiological and biochemical indices in animals

Project duration: 1 January 2018 – 31 December 2020

Grant holder: Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University (Project of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine)

Project goals: The normalization of physiological and biochemical parameters in model organisms with metabolic syndrome by using caloric restriction approaches and the alleviation of the recovery of models to the norm by using dietary supplements and plant adaptogens.

Specific project objectives are:

  • To develop reproducible models of metabolic syndrome in mice and fruit flies.
  • To develop the ways of transition from the state of metabolic syndrome to the norm by using caloric restriction approach.
  • To alleviate the recovery animals from the state of metabolic syndrome to the norm by using nutritional supplements and plant adaptogens.
