Ph.D. students of the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology took part in the XX International Scientific Conference “Youth and the Progress of Biology”, which was held at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv on April 18–19. The reports of young scientists were presented in two sections of the conference. Our department was represented in the section “Human and Animal Physiology, Biomedicine” by Vitalii Balatskyi, Vitalii Derkachov and Vladyslav Berezovskyi, and in the section “Biochemistry” by Oleh Demianchuk.
The Ph.D. students presented their research on the modeling of PTSD in mice and the effect of the cafeteria diet on the body, which is being carried out at the department. All four scientists were awarded prizes for the best reports. Vitalii Balatskyi took first place in the Human and Animal Physiology, Biomedicine section; Vladyslav Berezovskyi and Vitalii Derkachov shared 2nd place and Oleh Demianchuk took 3rd place in the Biochemistry section. In addition, the young scientists received fascinating impressions from their excursions to the palaeontological and mineralogical museums organized by the conference organizers.
